Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Bakufu (the “Service”), provided by Artemis Design Labs [LEGAL ENTITY NAME](“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you may bind that organization.

The Service

Bakufu is an agent-governance platform that runs AI coding agents under rules you define and enforces them with automated checks. It is provided during an early-access period and may change, and outputs may contain errors — you are responsible for reviewing generated code before relying on it. During early access we may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or parts of it), and beta data may be lost — keep your own copies of anything important.

Accounts

You sign in with Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access secure. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

Your content

You retain all rights to the goals, rulebooks, and code you submit or generate (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host and process Your Content solely to operate the Service for you. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not use Your Content to train models or to serve any other customer.

Acceptable use

• Don’t use the Service to build or do anything unlawful, harmful, or infringing.
• Don’t attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the Service’s security or governance controls.
• Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to use, or others’ secrets or personal data without authority.

Plans and payment

Free features are provided at no charge. Paid plans (when available) are billed through our payment processor on the terms presented at purchase. Some agent capabilities use third-party AI providers as disclosed on our Sub-processors page.

Third-party services

The Service integrates third-party providers (for sign-in, hosting, AI inference, and payments). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers’ terms.

AI models and model-use policies

Agents are powered by open-weight models we run ourselves (including Meta Llama, Google Gemma, Qwen, and Mistral models) and, where disclosed, cloud model providers. You agree not to use the Service or its outputs in ways that violate the applicable model providers’ license terms and use policies — including the Llama community license and acceptable-use policy, the Gemma prohibited-use policy, and (for cloud-backed agents) the relevant provider’s usage policy — in addition to our own acceptable-use rules above. AI output is machine-generated: review it before use, and you are responsible for how you use it.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that generated code is correct, secure, or fit for any purpose; you must review and test it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, if you paid nothing, USD 100).

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. On termination, the data-handling described in our Privacy Policy applies.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we will notify you (for example by email or in-product notice) before they take effect, and we will post the updated Terms with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [GOVERNING-LAW STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local consumer law applies to you.
