Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Bakufu (the “Service”), provided by Artemis Design Labs [LEGAL ENTITY NAME](“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you may bind that organization.

The Service

Bakufu runs AI coding agents under rules you define, and enforces those rules with automated checks. The Service is in early access, so it may change. Its output may contain errors. Review generated code before you rely on it. During early access we may change, pause, or withdraw the Service or any part of it, and beta data may be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important.

Accounts

You sign in with Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access secure. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

Your content

You keep all rights to the goals, rulebooks, and code you submit or generate (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host and process Your Content for one purpose only: to run the Service for you. As set out in our Privacy Policy, we do not use Your Content to train models or to serve any other customer.

Acceptable use

• Don’t use the Service to build or do anything unlawful, harmful, or infringing.
• Don’t try to break, overload, or work around the Service’s security or its governance controls, and don’t reverse-engineer them.
• Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to use, or others’ secrets or personal data without authority.

Plans and payment

Free features cost nothing. Paid plans, when we offer them, are billed through our payment processor on the terms shown at purchase. Some agents rely on third-party AI providers, which we disclose on our Sub-processors page.

Third-party services

The Service uses third-party providers for sign-in, hosting, AI inference, and payments. When you use those features, those providers’ terms apply to you as well.

AI models and model-use policies

Agents run on open-weight models we host ourselves. These include Meta Llama, Google Gemma, Qwen, and Mistral models. Where we disclose it, an agent may instead run on a cloud AI provider. Each of those models carries its own license and use policy, and you agree not to use the Service or its output in any way that breaks them. That covers the Llama community license and acceptable-use policy, the Gemma prohibited-use policy, and, for cloud-backed agents, that provider’s usage policy. Our own acceptable-use rules above apply on top of them. AI output is machine-generated. Review it before you use it, and you are responsible for how you use it.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, so far as the law allows. We do not warrant that generated code is correct, secure, or fit for any purpose. You must review it and test it.

Limitation of liability

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profit or lost data. For any claim about the Service, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you paid nothing, the cap is USD 100.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. On termination, the data-handling described in our Privacy Policy applies.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service grows. For a material change, we will tell you before it takes effect, by email or by a notice in the product. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept it.

Governing law

The laws of the State of [GOVERNING-LAW STATE], United States, govern these Terms. Conflict-of-laws rules do not apply. Where your local consumer law is mandatory, it still applies to you.
